“Falling in love with me wouldn’t be the worst thing to happen to you, would it?” “No. Losing you would,” he says.
“Buy whatever you want. You’ll never be able to spend it all.” “You say it like money is unlimited.” “It is,” he says without skipping a beat, then he leans in and whispers in my ear, “Try me, Pumpkin.” “What if I want a new car?” He nibbles on my earlobe. “We’ll shop for one tomorrow.” “A new wardrobe?” I whisper, wrapping my hand against the back of his neck. “I’ll call my personal tailor.” “A house?” I mutter. “I know a few builders.” His hot breath is on my skin. “And what if all I want is you?” I finally say. He pulls away, meeting my eyes. “You have me.”
“I’m not going anywhere, Pumpkin.” “Is that a promise?” I ask, turning my head enough to meet his soft eyes. “One I’ll keep for a lifetime,” he whispers.
“You’re scared,” she says. “But you’ll say yes and it will be the greatest thing that’s ever happened to you. You’re his queen, the only woman who can sit beside him, not only as his wife, but as his equal. You’ve been waiting for confirmation that he’s the man in your dreams. He is and always has been. Twin flames. Mirrored souls.”
“Earlier, you mentioned me sitting on your face.” His eyes darken and a smirk slides across his face. “I thought we might try that, considering.” His brow pops. “Considering I’ve never had the pleasure of riding someone’s face.” “Fuck, Pumpkin. Let me clear you off a place to sit.”
“How do I look at you?” “Like . . . you’d figure out a way to rope the moon if I wanted it.”
