Aidan O’Rourke turns back to me, a scowl on his face. I know he’s being beckoned to go. Pissed off sure looks good on that jawline. Aidan is muscled and honed to perfection, the product of relentless discipline. With dark brown hair and piercing green eyes, he’s like a beautiful storm, untamed and lethal.

And what the fuck was that reaction after I took the skate from her? She was ready for me to hit her. Unless you have experienced being hit before, you wouldn’t react that way. The terror in her eyes when she tracked the back of my hand coming toward her… It pissed me off. Who’s hitting her?

Aidan turns, swinging his arm toward me. I hesitate, my eyes watching his hand, and he immediately drops it. A flash of something in his eyes.

“No one goes into that room until I get back.” I don’t move until each one of them agrees.  Aurora Kostalova is mine.  Mine alone to deal with.

“Fine.” I fight the sleep dragging me under like a riptide, struggling to keep my eyes open. “But if you touch me, I’ll kill you,” I mutter with as much conviction as I can gather. My words fail to have the impact I wish them to.  Another low laugh escapes him. “Fair enough, little lion. Fair enough.”

I try to refocus my attention on my coach. Me? distracted? Nah… Couldn’t have anything to do with the fact I woke up this morning curled around a little Russian angel, nose buried in long, golden hair. I can still smell that heavenly scent. A mixture of vanilla and cinnamon from the bath, mixed with something else… something purely divine and innately Rory.

A low growl sounds to my right, and suddenly I’m pulled into a different hard chest: Niko’s. He wraps one arm tightly around me, the other holding the gun steady and trained on Aidan. The Irish defenseman remains right where I’d left him. Murder dances in his eyes.

He sighs, setting down the net. “Come on Rory, I promise… I’ll only bite if you ask me to.” His green eyes sparkle as he shoots me a smug little wink.

“He doesn’t live to see sunrise.” I stare down both my brothers.  Koen and Liam straighten, their faces serious as they exchange glances. They know exactly who I mean.  A dark smile appears at the corner of Koen’s mouth. “The cars or the bikes?” “The bikes.” My jaw flexes. “I want him to hear death coming for him.”

“I killed him too quickly.” His voice is haunting as he stares at the marks—finding more.  I drag his chin up, tearing his eyes away from my skin. “It’s okay,” I reassure him. “It doesn’t hurt,” I lie. It hurts. But only if someone touches it and God, if I don’t want Aidan to stop touching me.  He shakes his head. “It’s not okay,” his jaw tightening, “No one will ever touch you like that again.” The dangerous edge to his voice ignites a spark deep inside me, only making me want him more. “If they do—they die.”

“Revenge? No, Aurora Kostalova,” her eyes harden when I use her full name, “You’re not to be my revenge—but you may just be my salvation.”

I would burn that city to the ground if it would keep you safe. I’d never hurt you, not when I—” he stops, his eyes going to the sky while running a hand down his face. “Since the moment I first saw you. Those steel-blue eyes of yours wide with fear… Oh, I hated you,” an echo of a smile graces his lips.,“but I wanted you, nonetheless.”

“Mine,” he breathes, his eyes holding mine captive. “Yours,” I give in, wrapping my arms around his neck.
