Empowering people would never work in their worldview. Of course, these days I’m a senior consultant to venture firms and I’m often treated like an oracle. When people have a hard problem, they ask the oracle for the solution. They don’t necessarily expect the answer to make sense. They just try it, and, to their surprise, it almost always works.
