Despite the differences between languages, there is a fair amount of overlap in every language’s most frequent words. We’ll use that overlap to save us time. In Appendix 5, you’ll find a list of 625 words (in English) to start with. These words are practical, easy to visualize, and quick to translate—words like dog, school, car, and city. I’ll show you how to turn them into flash cards and put them into your SRS with pictures (and without their English translations).
