“You ever eat a person?” I ask, cutting him off mid-sentence. His head jerks up, his mouth half-open. “What?” “Human flesh,” I say, leaning forward slightly. “I hear it tastes like pork. You ever try it?” He stares at me like I just started speaking in tongues. “No,” he says finally, his voice cracking. “You should,” I say, leaning back again. “It’s really enlightening.”
