Confusion abounded over whose responsibility it was—OpenAI’s or GitHub’s—to optimize the model into a deployable product. There was also a lack of clarity among OpenAI employees around how much IP they should be sharing with their GitHub counterparts, while GitHub employees struggled with how much to trust OpenAI.
