Cringingly immature and unfunny. This section alone revealed to me what the tone of the entire book was going to be and I was not wrong in that assumption.

"Oh, I have this very esoteric way of solving this in order to seem really smart. Everyone will think I'm so clever." Which is funny because I'm pretty sure the word "esoteric" was used incorrectly later in the book.
