Often I do teach the need to respond in repentance and faith to the good news, but I didn’t do it with this lesson for two reasons. First, I wanted to focus on what Jesus did for us because we easily obsess over what we must do—and then the good news gets lost. If the Holy Spirit gets through to a kid’s heart, a proper response will follow without much coaxing from me.
