Jesse had been trying to get me to sit down and talk since the shooting at lunch. She wasn’t stupid and I was certain she wanted answers. She wanted to know what the hell went on, and how Meer and the rest of the men were connected.
Zoya was always so damn secretive with who she messed with. Even in college, you never knew who she was with or who she fucked because she kept it to herself. She was never one to gossip about who she was messing with. I think that was why Jesse and Brandi couldn’t stand her. Zoya had always been a mystery. Even before I knew who her family was, she always kept a low profile.
and that’s the reason why zoya is the boss lady that she currently is because she don’t be letting everyone in her business.
“Girl, that man likes you so damn bad. At the wedding… I saw him hold your hand.” “It was so I didn’t trip off the flooring on the beach, Zoya… relax.” Zoya gave Blair that look. “Girl, please. You were well off the beach and heading to the reception tent, and he held your hand, pulling you behind him… I saw you.” “And I saw you kiss Goon… so we’re even.”
The whiteboard held my attention as I cracked the door open a bit more and looked at the photos of my brothers. She had pictures of them with their wives, and one picture of Cappadonna with Promise. Cappadonna’s picture was in the center with a bunch of circles drawn around it. My picture was linked to the side, along with Capone. She had pictures of Quameer and Quasim up there, along with Goon. There was a question mark near Goon and Quasim. From there, the picture of Zoya was next to mine, with a long line to the other side of the board with a blank picture, but Menace Caselli was written

“Oh, great… you met my honey,” Jesse smiled, as we both took our seats and Blair looked like she saw a ghost when David walked into the dining room behind us. “Ja…Jasper, what the fuck?” Jesse looked at David and then at Blair. “Please don’t tell me that you were messing around with her?”
“Blair, this is the man that broke up with you because you have cancer?” She shook her head slowly while looking at David. “It wasn’t anything personal, Toots… I’m getting married and I could tell it was becoming more when you revealed your diagnosis to me. Plus, you were like a vault… couldn’t get nothing out of you… never introduced me to the friends I needed to meet.”
“Menace Caselli is a name we all know, but none of us know who he is… no pictures, and he’s like a damn ghost.” “He pays good money to remain that way. The people that need to know him, know who he is,” Zoya folded her arms. “However, the people that do see him end up in the ground shortly after.”
“Yes… did you not know she and Tookie used to mess around behind Quameer’s back in college? I think everybody knew about it except Quameer, and apparently you. There was a time she thought her daughter might have been Tookie’s baby.”
this bitch already cheated on him back then and even thought peach not being quameer’s? brandi needs her ass beat AGAIN
His toffee skin was covered in tattoos coming up his neck. His menacing smile graced his face, which was covered with a luscious thick beard. It made me wonder if all the men in my life used the same beard products. His hair was cut in a low fade, with the perfect hairline that not even Lebron could buy. His low eyes, contributed to his sex appeal. I didn’t care that I was a married woman, I wasn’t blind and could appreciate the art standing in front of us. That art being Menace Caselli.
“Landon… take that nigga upstairs to get his laptop.” “My… My… work issued laptop?” David stammered. He moved so quick as he grabbed Jesse’s hair and pulled her head back. “You don’t only got fucking work on that laptop. You got a video that belongs to one of my girls that you and Morgan decided to fuckin’ rape.”
Blair removed herself from between me and Zoya and paced the dining room. “I cannot believe I was falling for the damn opp.” “You always seemed to find yourself with the wrong one,” Jesse had the nerve to say. “Reason Brandi couldn’t stand you. It was always you when it came to Tookie… even I could see he was beating the shit out of you, but Brandi was blind.”
“What the fuck went on, Suga?” He was trying to figure everything out. “She had a gun to Capri’s chest and then Zoya’s chest… then she was talking crazy about Quasim and you, and how she was taking everyone down… I fucking snapped. You guys have been family to me, and I swear I couldn’t allow her to shoot Capri knowing she’s pregnant,” Blair spiraled as tears fell down her face. Quasim gently lifted her chin and kissed her cheek before whispering something into her ear. She searched his eyes and nodded her head. “We’ll handle it.”
It wasn’t even about sex when it came to Shante. All she had to do was touch my face, and the gentleness of her touch made me feel like a fucking baby. One drink led to three, and then I was driving her home to her condo. All she had to do was give me that look, and I was finding parking and heading upstairs with her. It was stupid of me to even do some shit like that because I had a family at home.
My pops’s name came across the screen, and I answered. “What up?” “Your girl fucking calling you and you don’t fucking answer acting like a petty fucking bitch… my fucking grandson and daughter was in a fucking shootout and you answering what up?”
My fucking heart was in my ass thinking about the words my father said to me. I grabbed my wallet, gun, and keys off the night table before Shante put her arms around me and kissed me on the lips. “Be safe and call me when you can… okay?”
“How the fuck you knew where I was at?” “You Cappadonna’s son, there ain’t too much you can do without someone knowing. I saw you leave with Shante last night when I was in the back counting money.” I stood on the step and looked at him. “You didn’t come out there and stop me from leaving with her.”
you’re a grown ass man—HE SHOULDN’T HAVE TO STOP YOU FOR DOING SHIT YOU WASN’T SUPPOSE TO BE DOING IN THE FIRST PLACE!
The rest of the ride, I was quiet while in my head. Why the fuck would anyone shoot at Aimee while she had my son? That had to be the reason she kept calling me, and I ignored her call when she needed me. How the fuck could I ignore her when she needed me. Aimee always told me that I was all she had, and in the moment when she needed me the most, I let my pride and pettiness get into the way.
“A concussion and bruising… he unstrapped himself because he was scared… he was on the fucking floor under the seat. Thank God the bus hit on the opposite side he was fucking on, and he was already on the ground when the bullets hit the truck… his fucking car seat had fucking bullet holes, Capella… the driver was dead on the scene. They didn’t know he was in the truck until the lady that Aimee passed out on told them that was what she was screaming before she passed out.” He wiped away the tears in his eyes before they could fall. I dropped to my knees and cried.
oh my god poor rory and the fact he doesn’t like loud noises, i just know he was scared out of mind trying to find mommy and daddy 😢
“You did some lame ass shit… right?” “Why the fuck does that matter right now? My son and Aimee are my concern right fucking now.” “So, where the fuck were you when they needed you! Your girl fucking needed you and you failed to protect her! Had she not fucking called me, we wouldn’t even know what the fuck would have happened!” he barked, spit flying from his mouth. “I didn’t fucking raise you like that!” “You didn’t fucking raise me at all!”
“Always preaching that Pops shit but don’t wanna talk about it… he don’t fucking love me,” I continued spewing, not even sure of what the hell I was even talking about. “He didn’t knock your fucking head off and walked away… that’s how you know a father’s love. He didn’t raise you because that was stolen from him, but he’s been here with you since finding out and you say some sucka shit like that ‘cause you scared and in the wrong… you wrong and corny, B,” Capone said as he pointed at me. “You not even on good terms with his ass and you trying to school me.”
someone needs to beat capella’s ass right now and i’m so serious. he’s acting like he knowingly left capella when he was a baby when the truth is HE WAS NEVER ONCE TOLD HE HAD A SON?!?
“That ain’t no fucking nephew of mine with the way he speaking crazy. He didn’t raise you because of yo’ bum ass mama, but he been leading you to not be a fucking scrub ass nigga. Accepted you without question. Would fucking give his life for you and yours without a question. We don’t ever gotta be on speaking terms for him to know how I step behind him… I’m always gonna have my twin’s back because I already know he gonna hold down the front… matter fact, go glue them fucking locs back in yo’ head and get some common sense and fucking apologize. Our birthday is this weekend, and you think he

“Aim, come here,” I tried to touch her, and she jumped back like I had a disease or something. “No… please, no… get the fuck away from me!” she screamed, and the doctor looked at me like he was second guessing even giving me all the information he had given me. “Bab—” “Don’t fucking call me baby!” she hollered, I could see the saliva extending from the root of her mouth to the bottom as she sobbed while pointing at me. “I called you… I fucking called you and you lef… left Rory! I told you that you’re all I had, and you said fuck me!”
“How could someone be so fucking smart and be so fucking stupid? That nigga Khalil would have been handled before he could become a problem. Your fucking man is a Delgato, his father a fucking Inferno God… that comes with a bunch of niggas that are willing to put their life on the line for me and mine… niggas snatched my wife and niggas lit they fucking block up behind her. You didn’t think telling somebody that Khalil was trying to blackmail you, he wouldn’t have been handled? Capella could handle that nigga in his fucking sleep, Aimee!”
“I had an abortion… we didn’t need another fucking baby!” she hollered. “All you give a fuck about is me being a mother, and newsflash, the hood of motherhood hasn’t been easy for me, Capella. You never noticed, and I’m sick of the shit… sick of always having to be alright when I’m struggling. Being a mother has been a fuck—” Core nor my father were fast enough to grab me as I flew across the room and wrapped my fucking hands around her neck, choking her ass out. “You killed my fucking baby because you fucking overwhelmed! I’m gonna fucking kil—”
“I’m gonna fucking kill that bitch,” I punched my hand, wanting to go back into the room and finish beating the shit out of her. “My fucking son… she so fucking stupid, I swear. Why the fuck would she do that with my fucking son with her?” “You wrong, too, nigga,” Core spoke, as he leaned against the vending machine. “She fucking called you, and you ignored her shit… I had to do a fucking alert so you could answer the phone. Don’t get me wrong, she wrong as shit, but you play a part in that shit, too.”
exactly two wrongs don’t make a right. yes she was wrong for not saying or asking for help with khalil AND capella wasn’t no better with not providing a safe space for her to talk about these things AND SLEPT WITH SOMEONE ELSE!
My team had set this little photo op up, because they claimed I needed to be shown supporting small Black owned businesses. Especially since my whole campaign I had been passionate about shedding more light on them. So, instead of sending out my suit for the mayor’s gala to my usual dry cleaner, Aimee had found a laundromat that offered dry cleaning to make it look like I was bridging the gap and wanted all of our people to win. Bullshit.
he can’t support black businesses and won’t care about what happens to them but can fetishize about sleeping with black women UGH
“The owner opened this laundromat when she moved here from Belize… her name is Joy.” As I turned around, I watched a thicker Muslim woman with a hijab on come from behind the counter. I paused, ‘cause she was fucking stunning with her thick pink lips, beauty marks on opposite ends of her cheek, and beautiful doe shaped brown eyes.
“Alright Jesse, I’ve been calling you for a damn week now and you still haven’t gotten back to me. You harass my staff for a meeting with me about something important and then you disappear,” I whispered into the phone, becoming pissed all over again. Jesse had been trying to get a meeting with me for a whole damn week, and I had been busy.
