He pulls me close, his lips ghosting over mine. “You do know when I get you back home, I won’t be able to take my eyes off you, right?”
“That’s okay.” My grin grows as I kiss him softly. “I like it when your eyes are on me.”
“When you get back from your meeting, maybe we can talk about us.” His brows furrow for a moment, but then the corners of his mouth twitch. “Of course, my love. We can talk about anything you want.”
smirk. “You’re so good with your words, moya lyubimoya.”
“I know.” She laughs, and the sound fills the space between us, something pure and good. Sliding down beside her on the bed, I pull her against my chest, her head resting over my heart. And for the first time in what feels like years…it beats in peace.
