His lips took me back to that night—the night I felt pleasure like no other. It's the night that left me spiraling out of control, seeking the same high from other men, but never finding it. His stunt revealed more than I care to know… he truly is the only one that can make me feel alive.
“He acts all sweet and innocent, takes me out on a date with plans to sell me to you at the end. He owed you money and I guess he thought a cheap date to the movies was a decent enough exchange for a shitty life owned by you.”
This is so unrealistic, it's pathetic. Honestly, I had hopes for this book. THIS IS ONE OF THE DUMBEST BOOKS I'VE READ.
“I don't think you will. Otherwise, you would have done so already rather than putting on this show.” I'm betting my life, and theirs, on the fact he's bluffing, because surely he wouldn't actually shoot them, not when he was concerned about who Ryder's parents were.
“I don't get it. You say you don't want money as payment, but then you say you lost money because of us. So, what exactly is it that you're wanting?”
I have never wanted to punch a fictional character so much in my life until now. I cannot stand you at all. God, you make Kyah from Pretty Monsters seem more logical.
“Well, if that's all,” Nico lifts his eyes to us, signaling he's done with this entire thing. “Feel free to leave. I'll come knock on your door when you're needed.”
All this is some made up "conflict" for them all to resolve. An obstacle for them to overcome.
I was literally so excited about this book. It's dumb. Bye.
