I plop down on the couch and kick my legs up on the coffee table, turning on the newest episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. If Luca’s not here to make me laugh, then Captain Holt can instead.

Putting my hands back behind my head, she leans forward, her hand grabs my throat to hold herself upright. “Well, fuck, that’s new,” I choke out. “Oops, sorry.” She lifts herself back up, her cheeks now red. “Leave the hand there, Rosa.” I tug at her arm to put her hand back.
“I’ll go get your spicy book collection from downstairs; that will keep your mind busy.” He winks. “That isn’t your worst idea,” I tease. If there’s ever been a time I need to escape reality, it's now.
