Who can comprehend the confusion and terror that many of the young people on one or other of these drugs felt in their final moments? For those who survived, who had been on some of these drugs and had seen the worst of the horrors of that morning, the combination of factors would already be too much. One of the truths about trauma is that anyone who has been through a dangerous situation is in an infinitely better position if they were in some way anticipating the situation or expecting to go into harm’s way.
