“You owe me nothing.” He slides his gaze back to our attackers and drops into a battle stance. “But any help you can provide will be invaluable.” It takes me a second to process his words. Help. He’s asking me to help. I broke down and cried and had a panic attack not an hour ago, and yet he still doesn’t see me as weak.
