Slade had a strong touch aversion, and while I had no idea what had specifically caused it, I knew it was trauma from his past. The dragon, with his genius computer brain, was cold and formal most of the time, but not today. Today, he’d saved me, and at great personal cost.
“Your wolf’s fur is the whitest I’ve ever seen,” he explained, as he finally glanced my way, his expression neutral. His eyes burned though. “It reminds me of the purity of snow, and your arctic blue eyes only add to the vibe.”
Don’t push me on this, dragon. Eat the fucking food.” A flicker of a smile ghosted over his lips, so fast that I probably imagined it, but he did reach out and grasp the bowl. There was the briefest graze of our fingers, which set off an entire kaleidoscope of butterflies in my gut. “Whatever you need, Snow.”
“Feed me?” He rumbled it with so much confusion, as if I’d spoken in a foreign language and he was attempting to translate the meaning. “Yep,” I nodded, barely hiding my grin. “It usually happens with babies, but you don’t have to worry, I won’t make any airplane noises as I spoon the food in. Unless you want me to, of course.”
“I’ve waited a lifetime for you, Emmeline,” he whispered close to my ear. “And if I’ve learned anything since you came into my life, it’s that if you’re not alive then I’m not alive. I refuse to do this shit without you. I can’t do this without you. That’s just how it is now and forever.”
“It just means I will stand between you and death always. I’m not worried about living without you, because it won’t happen. The only reason I didn’t jump in with the dragon was the risk of provoking him.
“You are not a monster, Slade Riverson. You are a protector. Your dragon saved us from the blast. Don’t tell me that wasn’t pure instinct. Not even you could have premeditated and moved that quickly.”
“I’ve got you, baby girl,” he whispered. “Fall apart. Fall all the fucking way apart and trust me to hold the pieces. Until I put you back together.”
He responded with a grunt, so I elbowed him, and his eyes widened in astonishment as if no one had ever thought to strike him. He wasn’t the only one either, as the others stared like we were a new phenomenon popped up from the depths of the underworld.
He dropped his glass with a thud, and a choked gasp escaped me when he wrapped his claim around my throat, capturing me in his way. He leaned in closer, his voice a purr of dominance. “You have a keeper, Babygirl. You are kept. Owned. Claimed. Mine.” His voice lowered even more, and as I melted into my chair, he released me just as suddenly, retrieving his drink once more. “And don’t you ever forget it.”
“I’m just over six-nine and Hunter is six-six. Poor little guy.”
“For our scent match to feed us… it’s a gesture of courting. Our beasts are losing their minds.”
Always protect your heart.” “Because you can’t survive without it,” Slade finished, and I was absolutely fucking gutted.
Finley still needed a few high fives. To the face. With a chair.
She sank into me and my still-hard cock kicked in my pants, but I didn’t bother to adjust myself. I was proud to show the world how much I craved her, my perfect mate.
was coated in her cum when she squirted, taking both of us by surprise. The best fucking surprise. Was it my birthday? Christmas? Did I just get a wish granted, because this was my lucky day.
“There’s our good girl.” I almost slipped off my chair as my panties took part in a slip-and-slide contest we were clearly winning.
An entitled alpha does not kneel. But he had.
