“You are stunning,” I said, my eyes drinking in a sight I hadn’t been prepared for. I’d noticed she was a cute girl, but tonight she was a knockout. The dress was made to show off her curves—nicely done, Edward—but on top of that she had long-lashed brown eyes, full red lips, and exposed shoulders that looked sinfully smooth.
“You better look me in the eyes when you’re saying things like ‘forty K,’ honey.”
turned just as she stepped in the doorway, looking stunning in a black off-the-shoulder sweater, black leather skirt, and tall black boots that made me actually forget my name for a second. And something about the all-black outfit made her hair look like shimmery copper. I cleared my throat, fully aware of how I shouldn’t think she was gorgeous.
“How is it that I love someone who’s such a pain in the ass?” I asked, leaning forward to kiss her forehead. “You made a deal with the devil,” she said with a grin. “For the price of $40K.” “No, I made a deal with a devilish maid,” I corrected, “and it cost me my whole entire heart.”
