Today was the day a thousand dreams would die and a single dream would be born.
If we didn’t believe, fear would overtake us.
My dress streamed behind me, now wedding me to a life of uncertainty, but that frightened me far less than the certain life I had faced. This life was a dream of my own making, one where my imagination was my only boundary. It was a life that I alone commanded.
If I could only reach out and touch the stars, I would know everything. I would understand. Know what, my darling? This, I would say, pressing my hand against my chest. I had no words to describe the ache inside me. There’s nothing to know, sweet child. It’s only the chill of the night.
