He tucked a strand of hair behind my ear and stared up at me. “Your weight isn’t the reason I can’t breathe right now, Violet.”
“You being scared of me hurts me more than any blade could.” His eyes locked with mine. “Don’t you know you have all the power, Violet? I couldn’t hurt you even if I wanted to. But you…” He breathed out a ragged breath. “You have the power to destroy me. You just don’t seem to know it. With that knife in your hand, maybe you’ll finally see it.” His eyes were a tormented mess of emotions. “So do it.”
Words are easy, ink runs free, But face-to-face, we fall, we flee. Maybe letters are our space, A quiet world, our own escape. But one last time, let’s break the rule, Meet me where the night is cool. No crowds, no noise, just you and me, A place where no one else will see. We’ll start again, the way we should, And if we don’t, then it was good. Come alone, come when it’s late, I’ll be waiting. Don’t be late.
