Recognizing problems is pointless when you have little motivation to fix them. And finding motivation is impossible when the mere idea of existing feels like a punishment.

This shit is so fancy I don’t understand half the words coming out of the server’s mouth.

My stomach gurgles, sickness rising up in waves. The rough meat scratches my gullet as it goes down. Slithers through my esophagus in a clump as if it is alive. Clawing to get out.

But without the bright LED screen shining in my eye, the constant ping of notifications, the silent darkness becomes a confrontation, and every sense that I dulled with my distracted scrolling suddenly sharpens.

“Obviously, we all worked hard to get to where we are. But acknowledging our privilege is still important. We all put in our hours. We are all on the grind. We’ve all sacrificed. But some people sacrifice less and get more. And other people work themselves to the bone and get scraps. That’s the nature of life and social media is not an exception.”

I love her so much, it hurts. I want to devour her whole from the inside out, leaving only her skin so I can wear it and become her, that’s how much I love her.
