All I feel in lieu of the victory I was expecting is a sting I wasn’t prepared for in the least.
“Fuck,” I grit out, dropping my mouth to Colton’s skin. I lick over the word—my name—before biting down.
I’m so hard it hurts, but it’s the ache in my chest that has my voice coming out strained. “I can’t stop thinking about you. You’re in my fucking head. Invading my life. You’re everywhere I goddamn look. Everything I see.”
“And I’m not letting you run anymore,” I husk out. “You’re mine, Colton Darling. You. Are. Mine.”
When I break from his lips, I tuck myself over Colton’s body, tugging him close. It takes a moment for him to relax, but then his hands are smoothing over my back, and he holds me just as tight.
I am possessive of the man, aren’t I? Possessive of his pleasure. Of his pain. Possessive of those marks I left all over his body and the way he looks when his scowl drops and I see the man beneath all that anger, feigned or otherwise.
Donning my gloves, I pick up my unfinished crown. A few thorns for balance. Evening primroses that only open at night. A sprinkling of forget-me-nots for the man who refuses to leave my head.
“Against all goddamn sense and reason, you made me fall brim over boot, Noah King. And now I don’t know which way is up unless it’s with you.”
