As far as I knew it would only be me and Wonder, along with Skyler, Jeffie and Corleon.

Frustrated with herself she started crying and Skyler went to get her, but Corleon stopped her. He went up the steps and picked Estella up, who held onto him while he kissed her cheek and told her that she was alright. Corleon wanted to be a father more than anything, and I knew he would be great at the shit. The man had the patience of a saint and was built for that. How he soothed Estella without needing her mother told me that Skyler, Estella, and Jeffie were in good hands. Jeffie came down the steps and Corleon waited at the bottom with Estella, reaching his hand out. She took his hand, and he walked her over toward Skyler. Estella reached for her mother.

She smiled. “You look handsome, Mavie. I love you in a suit.”

“I love you butt ass naked in my bed.”

I had to tell her and the world how I felt, because then if somebody tried to jump stupid I could kill them without an explanation. They knew how I felt about her and still wanted to be stupid.

I watched as he walked over to Jeffie holding Estella, and pulled Skyler with him as they took pictures with Wonder.

“You are married, Stevie!” She jumped up and down, then turned to look at me. “To Menace.”

“Hi, fuck you, too, Skyler.”

“Menace, my baby ain’t no damn serial killer,” Skyler snorted.

Corleon came over with Jeffie. He was holding Estella, who was resting her head on his shoulder. “Her nap time is approaching and she starting to get whiny. She wanted candy and then started crying when I opened it.”
