It wasn’t me who did all that, Fox thought, almost angrily. It was God. Without Him, I’d probably be dead by now.
Demons and dark spirits obeyed witches with their evil power, but nature—God’s creation—hated witches, hated magic, hated sorcery, hated any false power.
“It can be difficult to see God through the storm, but that doesn’t mean He isn’t there.” “I just wish I knew the point in all this.” “If we could see where God was taking us, we wouldn’t need faith to get us there.”
Adonai-Tzva’ot, the Hebrew Name of God, first seen in the Book of I Samuel when God was worshipped as the Lord of Hosts—or the Lord of Armies.
“Wisdom often takes the form of a woman in the Word of God, Grand Chief. Because that is our natural gift.”
“There are some in the Church who believe that women cannot lead others, but I disagree. Not only are there great women leaders in the Bible itself, but I take my cues from Christ. He was born to a woman. A woman who taught Him to read and write and walk. A woman who led Him through the rocky human world He had never lived in before. “A woman led our Savior from infancy to adolescence, through puberty, and into adulthood. It was a woman who led Jesus Christ through this world as she followed the wisdom Father God had given her.
It’s time for me to live for You alone, she promised in her heart. Because You are the only One who could ever love me as much as I’ve loved others.
“I think I just fell for you all over again.”
She knew she was stony, but if there was one thing she’d learned on this journey, it was that she didn’t need special powers to serve or please God. And she certainly didn’t need them to overcome her enemies. Her faith alone was more than enough.
You reminded me that my emptiness allows me to be completely filled with God’s power alone.” She inclined her own head, stunning Thunder into silence. “That is its own blessing.”
When Nabal rejected King David, his wife Abigail intervened and saved him. When God was about to kill Moses, his wife Zipporah intervened and saved him. Time and again in the Bible, women of God stepped up and protected their husbands—whether an anointed prophet or a fool. God heard their prayers, and He showed mercy to their husbands.
Because humans say that destroying a city is evil, but God says even badmouthing your brethren is murder.”
To you, a good Christian follows the rules. But that’s why we’re Christian, because we can’t follow the rules. Like the Israelites who could not keep the Laws of God, we Christians accept His grace because we cannot be fully obedient. It is in our sin nature to rebel, and we spend each day crucifying our flesh and trying to follow the Lord’s example. We’re terribly flawed, but Jesus loves us anyway.”
