All the parts of a body are dependent upon other parts and organs in order for the individual parts (“me”) to function and flourish (1 Cor. 12:12–31). It is not only sin that makes us dependent upon others; our very finitude, as creatures, impels us to relationality because we need the gifts, talents, and resources of others.
