While the whole world is a sacrament, we might say that the sacraments and the liturgy are unique “hot spots” where God’s formative, illuminating presence is particularly “intense.”[36] While the Spirit inhabits all of creation, there is also a sense that the Spirit’s presence is intensified in particular places, things, and actions.
