Tate had proposed with a replica of the One Ring since we had a tradition of rereading The Hobbit,

“First of all, I’m totally offended. There’s no such thing as too much Tolkien,”

“The only guys you can trust are fictional ones.”

“I wish none of this had happened,” she said with a sigh. “So does everyone who lives during such times, but that’s not for them to decide. All we can decide is what to do with our time.”

Who needed a relationship when I could have a bookshop? Books were much less likely to disappoint you.

“So let me get this straight. You hate him enough to pick up your life and move to a brand-new place while listening to Before He Cheats for hours in the car, but you don’t hate him enough to block his number?”

If there was anything I hated more than cheating, lying exes, it was people telling me what I couldn’t do.

“You know, in Asia, they say every time you sigh, you let a little bit of your happiness slip away.”
