Men don’t keep their promises when they live in the same house as you.
“HEY!” I holler up at him. “Is that how your mother dropped you on your head?”
They hate when you don’t fawn over them. And most of all, they hate when you’re different than the picture of you they created in their mind.
They say I’m everything they ever wanted—then they want to change everything about me.
It’s a simple equation: men have the power. If men were good, the world would be good.
When you can manipulate reality, life is a game.
“Life is for living,” Adrik concurs. “Take all you can get while there’s breath in your lungs.”
“Happy is harder to attain,” I say. “Impossible for some,” Sloane remarks.
“The sun sets on one life and rises on another.”
I wish I could choose like everyone else, and be happy in my choice.
