“But you will never learn to conquer your opponent if you can’t conquer yourself.”
“A fight isn’t won by belief. But once you’ve done all you can in the gym . . .” He tapped my chest once more, reminding me of our previous conversation. “The last bit is in here. You’ll know that it’s true. Once you’ve found it yourself.”
Who the fuck is this girl? Who is she really?
We can never really see ourselves except reflected in other people’s eyes.
Me encanta tu fragrancia. I need you.
“I’m jealous,” I say, seizing her arm and pulling her close. “Any time anyone looks at you, or speaks to you, I’m jealous. I want all your minutes, and all your words. I want all of you, all the time.”
“When you become a man worthy of love, you will receive love,”
I throw my arms around her and hug her hard against me, pressing my face into her thick black curls smelling my favorite scent in the world—the scent of this girl. “What’s going on?” she says, pulling back just a little to look up into my face. “Something happened today. I had to come tell you.” “Tell me what?” She says. “That I love you, Cat. I fucking love you.”
I linger in the doorway, watching Sasha stare down the street after Miss Robin.
I see my mother, older but instantly recognizable, holding the hand of a small girl with blonde pigtails. “I think you have a sister,” Cat says. I look at that image, my mother holding the hand of the girl the same age that I was when she left.
Maybe she was pregnant and decided to leave his father to give the baby a better life...OR the sister is a love child
She guessed almost immediately that Cat was the one who killed Rocco Prince. That was an unwelcome complication—Dr. Cross’ lung infection was another.
“That’s right. I gave you a month once. Now I want the same in return. A month of you obeying my every command.”
She presses her forehead against mine. “I know exactly who you are, Dean. And I fucking love you.”
“I’d do anything for her.” Snow rests his hand on my shoulder. “You’re a man now. And that’s what a man does.”
