I stared back at myself, unwavering as I watched my eyes go from Xade’s match, emerald, green, and orange flecked to dark brown lined with black. The eyes Solace wore every day stared back at me. I had not worn these eyes for years. Not claimed them as my own for sixteen years. But seeing my true face calmed my soul for a moment. Whatever Archar had done, it was for me. He had looked back at me with those same eyes. A version of me, that only he knew in all of Capsian, stranger things had happened, and I was going to find them out.
