9Then Moses and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and dseventy of the elders of Israel ewent up, 10and they fsaw the God of Israel. There was under his feet as it were a pavement of gsapphire stone, like the very heaven for clearness. 11And he did not lay his hand on the chief men of the people of Israel; they beheld God, and hate and drank.
‘Above all you shall keep my Sabbaths, for this is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I, the LORD, sanctify you.
31Because he has ydespised the word of the LORD and has broken his commandment, that person shall be utterly cut off; his iniquity shall be on him.”
tOh that they had such a heart as this always, to fear me
and to keep all my commandments, uthat it might go well with them and with their descendants [5] forever!
18Then I xlay prostrate before the LORD yas before, forty days and forty nights. I neither ate bread nor drank water, because of all the sin that you had committed, zin doing what was evil in the sight of the LORD to provoke him to anger.
cForty stripes may be given him, but not more, lest, if one should go on to beat him with more stripes than these, your brother be degraded in your sight.
and offered it on the rock to the LORD, to the one who works [1] wonders,
21And zdo not turn aside after aempty things that cannot profit or deliver, for they are empty.
Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, xto obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.
