Nov 3, 2024 -- Landon Shelby The who, why, & what of Barabbas Luke 23:13-25 1) who is Barabbas? - mentioned in all Gospels - tranlates to "son of the father" - picture of Jesus substitution, atonement of sins ((- Pilot & Harod hated the Jews - God orchastrated Pilot & Harod to be in Jersualem at this time.)) 2) why Barabbas? A) the legitmacy of the jursidiction B) to show the love of Jesus (when Jesus looks at Barabbas He had compassion) C) the lostness of the jews (Jesus seen/knew the lostness) 3) what do we do with Barabbas? - pray walk with intentionality - Jesus He didn't just hold the debt note up to hang over our heads but He took and paid the note with no strings attached.
