I hesitate to call myself worthless, because I’ve taken scum as equal as those that would be deemed ‘good’ in some eyes. It doesn’t matter because I was worthless to Alyson. What's important now, is I don't fail Max like I did my sister. It’s not even been two full days since my heart started beating again, and I know if it stops again, I’ll be joining Alyson beyond this existence. The moment her life support was cut, so was mine. But, the moment Max called me Big Guy, it was like I had been shocked back to the land of the living. Now, I just need to give the reason for that a fighting chance. She’s here for a reason. No one runs through the mazes for nothing. Max doesn’t strike me as the kind to need or want money, she gave me Troy’s pot of gold—I hate myself for referring to it in that way—indication enough she could care less. She sees Troy as my friend, and risked me giving it back to him.
