I thought it might be helpful to have a distillation of a few points. 1. Nothing you did or didn’t do caused Dylan to do what he did. 2. You didn’t “fail to see” what Dylan was going through—he was profoundly secretive and deliberately hid his internal world not only from you, but from everyone else in his life. 3. By the end of his life, Dylan’s psychological functioning had deteriorated to the point that he was not in his right mind. 4.
