Better a warrior in the garden than a gardener at war. Japanese proverb
Carter was leading the way to the garage across the driveway when something brown and hairy nibbled at Summer’s jeans. She yelped and grabbed for Carter. Clinging to the waistband of his jeans, she peeked around his back. “Oh my God! What is that? It tried to bite me!” Carter dragged Summer out from behind his back and anchored her to his side. He was trying not to laugh. “You’ve never seen a goat before?”
“I’m moving in. If I have to listen to Mom and Franklin through the wall—” Carter smacked him with the spatula. “I’m going to stop you right there before I throw up or kill you.”
“It’s because when you’re open and honest about who you are and what’s important to you, things fall into place.”
