Olive deserved all the smiles in the world. I just wanted to be the one to give them to her.
“I just want to get to know her better,” I said. Liar liar liar my alpha chanted, but it wasn’t like I could say Olive is mine even though she doesn’t know it yet and I’m going to bite her and fuck her and take care of her forever.
His scent was all pine and bonfire, earthy and masculine like the alpha himself. I’d had to stop myself from climbing into his big lap and running my hand through the strands of blond hair escaping his bun. He’d made me feel instantly safe.
Grief is the price we pay for love, and at some point along the way, it started feeling beautiful instead of ugly, like there’s something sacred in the midst of the agonizing pain.”
“It’s amazing that it’s been, what, four years, and you’re still this obsessed with me.” I flicked my hair behind my shoulder and crossed my arms. “Ultimately, she’s the one I feel sorry for.” I gestured at the red-headed omega, who looked confused and uncomfortable. At least finance bro alpha had finally shut up. “She’s out with one alpha who’s more boring than dirt and another who couldn’t find the clit even with GPS assistance.”
“This is Starlight Grove’s Lighthouse Keeper. Did you say the boat is My Sweet Olive?” “Affirmative.”
“It’s them, Felix,” I shouted, almost falling on my ass as I pulled on my boot. “That’s why they’re not responding. They’re on the fucking boat.” Because there was only one fishing boat with that name. And only one reason it would be on its way to Starlight Grove.
“I figured.” Then he mumbled something about alphas and omegas under his breath before continuing. “I’m the captain. You will listen to me and not get in our way.”
“How did your alphas get themselves into this pickle?” That was the million-dollar question, but I had a pretty good guess. “I think they’re trying to make a grand romantic gesture. The boat they crashed belonged to my parents.” “Weird way to make a gesture, but what do I know?” Leo shrugged. His eyes narrowed as he looked me over.
“Olive, my soul has known you were mine for six years, and when I finally laid my eyes on you that day on the beach, I knew I would love you for the rest of my life.” I inhaled sharply. “You love me?” Lars tightened his hold on me. “How is that even a question? Of fucking course I love you.” I sniffled again as happy tears fell down my cheeks. “I love you, too.”
“You wouldn’t be you if you didn’t lecture me.” He broke out into a smile so beautiful it made my breath hitch.
“My omega, my sweet girl. I love you.” “My Finn. I love you, too.”
“My omega was too much for them. They said I was demanding and whiny and that I made the heat really difficult for them.” “Difficult for them?” Finn gritted out.
“And then the second time, they could only find one alpha on short notice, which was my fault. I’d been nervous to call the agency and tell them I was going into heat after my first experience, so I left it too long. That alpha said the same thing about my omega… when he left halfway through.”
He left Olive? My Olive? All alone? I was go...

“You shouldn’t have to deal with me during this heat. I have my medications with me and then once it’s over, I’ll talk to Stanley and tell him I’m not fit to be the lighthouse keeper.”
moment Finn snapped. A growl ripped through his chest, and he gripped Olive’s chin. “The only reason you’re not over my lap right now getting spanked is because I know you’re not thinking clearly with your heat starting. We are your fucking pack and it’s our responsibility to see you through heats.” He tightened his grip on Olive’s jaw when she tried to respond. “You are not too much. Those alphas were wimpy motherfuckers who probably signed up for that service because they wanted to fuck an omega and had no idea how to actually alpha-up and take care of you the way you deserve. You are not

“How could you think we would leave you, baby?” I asked. “We also had plans to talk to you today.” I glanced over at my brothers and they nodded. This wasn’t how we’d planned to tell her, but she needed to know. “We wanted to give you the boat to show you how serious we are about you. We’d do anything for you. And we were planning to tell you we want to bond you.”
“We don’t have to bond!” he almost shouted. “There is no pressure.”
“I want to,” Olive sobbed,
“Are you really sure about me? If we’re bonded, you’ll feel all my bad moods and dark days. I’ll make you miserable and you’ll finally realize what a horrible person I am.”
“So fucking sure, sweetheart. Are you sure about us?” She nodded quickly. “Glad we’re in agreement.” Lars kissed her forehead and then we squeezed into the shower, taking turns being in there with Olive.
The room smelled like a woodland forest bakery filled with chocolate croissants, maple candies, and pumpkin spice lattes. I inhaled deep lungfuls until I was dizzy.
This was one of those quiet life moments that was so perfect I knew I’d treasure it forever. Tears filled my eyes. “I love you all so much.” My guys held me tighter as the bond flooded with pure, bright love. “We love you too, baby,” Easton said, sounding a little choked up. I lifted our joined hands and kissed them. “I’m so happy you stalked me.” “Wasn’t stalking,” he mumbled. I just smiled and closed my eyes. The crisp breeze from the water brought the promise of winter, but I had my guys to keep me warm. Today and every day in the future.
