“I just want to get to know her better,” I said. Liar liar liar my alpha chanted, but it wasn’t like I could say Olive is mine even though she doesn’t know it yet and I’m going to bite her and fuck her and take care of her forever.
I swung my arms at my side. “Nice waves we’re having today.” Fucking kill me.
Frida had always been a no-nonsense alpha. She was the head of her pack and had always been assertive, a real leader. There was something about her energy that made it impossible to lie. With just a single look, she’d gotten us to confess to so much mischief as kids.
“You like my outfit, then?” she asked as I kissed my way down her throat. “Like is an understatement, little siren. I would wreck my boat at sea just to get close to you.”
“I thought we’d determined that I know you better than you know yourself.” “But—” “And if that’s the case, then it makes perfect sense that I know we’re made for each other.”
Eww Olive no. Don’t do that just for a MAN
“Do you need me to extricate you from the moms?” “We heard that,” Jo shouted.
“I used to think grief was the worst thing in the world. And it is, at least in the beginning. But now, five years out, I’ve befriended my grief. It connects me to the two people I loved most in the world. It’s all the memories I had with them, how they made me feel so important, even as a little kid. Grief is the price we pay for love, and at some point along the way, it started feeling beautiful instead of ugly, like there’s something sacred in the midst of the agonizing pain.”
“You know I’m strong, right?” Easton said for the third time, flexing his arms as he ran his fingers through his hair. “See, I can pick you up.” His hands cupped my butt and lifted me against his chest. Then his face transformed again. “Not that it takes a lot of strength to lift you! Not at all.” He bounced me in his arms, anxiety pouring from him. “It’s like watching a train crash,” Summer said from her spot on the couch. I grinned and pressed a kiss to his forehead. “You’re very strong, alpha.” Lars crossed his arms. “I’m strong, too.”
“I heard you scented an omega years ago and have wanted her ever since. But thank god you’re settling with me.” “Damn,” Leo said. “This is better than that reality show, Go Scent Yourself.” “I’m more of a Rut Island kind of guy,” Michael responded.
“Because even if I lose you, it will have been worth it. Our love is worth it. You are worth it.”
“Yeah, well, what is that?” Finn asked, pointing at Easton’s pumpkin. “It’s Olive!” he said proudly. The three of us stared at his carving. Pumpkin Olive had a triangle nose taking up most of her face, a gaping mouth that made her look like she was forever screaming, and a weird half-circle that might be… hair?
