Joy already knew how her Roy was coming behind her – always.
“Fatima, you have the upper hand right now, and I admit it may even feel good to you because you’ve always hated me. You and Raheem kidnapped a Delgato… not just any Delgato, Cappadonna’s wife. If you think you’re going to see your kids grow up, you may need to make other arrangements for them. Let us go and make this easier on you because when my baby comes, he’s not letting shit go. His hands don’t discriminate… wrong twin.”
“You’ve always hit like a pussy. Probably why you would rather sell it than actually be out there putting in work. Mama always said you were sensitive, and we both know that’s code for bitch.” I spit the blood onto his sneakers, and he moved back away from me.
Big Mike came into the house. Riyah jumped off the couch and ran into his arms. “I’m good, Munchkin, I told you.”
“If shit goes left…” Capone looked me in the eyes. “Then we gonna bring that shit fucking right.”
“Trust Alaia coming home, even if I don’t.” I jumped in my truck, and revved my engine, ready to blow to Philly and get my baby. “Cappadonna stop,” Erin said, and then looked at her husband.
One thing you gotta know about me, your devil-in-law, is that I play for keeps and no nigga can ever say they won when it came to me… feel me?”
“I’ve dreamed about a million ways you would get yours when it came to karma. I never imagined that it would be me… I was playing it too small, and now look. You’re on your knees in front of me. Don’t ever fucking put a gun to my husband’s head and think I won’t have something to say about it.”
“Alaia, what the fuck are you going to do?” Blair screamed out, hysterical. “Blair, baby, I love you, but you gonna have to chill out a bit… okay? Alaia, anytime you don’t got it, let me know… okay?” “Okay.”
I lifted her chin. “You’re not stupid for thinking people should be as solid as your heart is.
“Your grandson got what he got because he was a sick fuck. Her moms knew it and eventually that guilt killed her. This one right here… not her fucking fault, feel me? I know one thing; you could join your sister, too, if you keep coming at her like that.”
“Welcome to Delgato Compound.”
“Always together.” “Forever.” “Even after.”
Quameer grabbed my chin and looked me in the eyes. “You can laugh, but I know that shit hurts. There will come a time when it doesn’t hurt anymore ‘cause somebody made you feel all the shit that you were missing. Eu sou aquele homem para você.”
held my index and middle finger together straight and slid it across my nose slowly while maintaining eye contact with Tookie before I spit at him. “Chrome pussy!” “You just made my dick hard, Capri, shit,” Quameer said.
“Good, we on the same page when it comes to our own.” He winked, as we pulled into my neighborhood. “I ain’t having no damn kids… nope, not in my cards.” “Your deck just didn’t get shuffled with mine yet… you missing the king in your deck, and I’m missing the queen. Timing plays a key in all of this.” He hit the garage opener, and then backed into my garage.
He looked at me. “You know I love you, right?”
“Joy and Roy?” “For fuckin’ ever.”
“You are beautiful. I appreciate you. I respect you. I know you’re worthy of all good things. You—” “You belong to me in the best way,”
“A lighter?” I held it in my hand confused. “My favorite lighter, Suga… hold it when you miss home. Do a little flick when you’re thinking about me.”
