“How did you know I was here?” I ask, crouching down beside him, the moss yielding beneath my touch. “I always know when you’re here.” He smirks, his eyes dancing across my face, and I feel the heat rise in my cheeks. “Is that a Voiden thing?” I ask, hoping he doesn’t notice how red I am, but I know he must. “No,” he tells me, his voice deeper than usual, and I find myself liking the sound of it, needing to hear it again. “It’s a you thing.”
just know, that I would do anything for this girl. She will be my undoing. But more than that, she will be what keeps me going, keeps me fighting, because a world where she’s not by my side, is not a world I wish to live.
