not sure if this is a spoiler early on as i highlighted this at the beginning but now about 70% through, there's a common trend of men who are black haired and blue eyed in Brocktown.. is he related? Came back at the end to say the book ends in cliff hanger so he could be but this is not revealed in this book but keeping this just in case.
Aaron was sweet. Theo was sweet—and a dangerous man. Not a danger to her, but to criminals. Something ridiculously appealing to the younger Halley. From the moment they met, she’d been lost.
dangerous?
A headache starts in her temple. A throbbing that presages a migraine. She’s had them all her life, ever since the accident that took her mother’s and sister’s lives and left her unmarked except for a small scar, a streak of white in her hair, and lingering headaches. And they are such an annoyance. But she doesn’t care right now.
cat has these headaches too.. is cat also Halley? Cat is a writer. her story is written in first person. Halley's story is not Finished : Ian is linked to the streak of white and headaches
“Cat is perfectly nicknamed,” her dad once told Halley when she was crying, having been yelled at for some random transgression. “She hisses and hisses, but it’s just fear driving her. You’ll be best friends one day. Just watch.”

it costs money to live in Brockville. Money, and approval. No one gets in that the board doesn’t meet, background 51check, consent to, and otherwise vet.

people don’t move away once they’ve gotten in. They stay until they die.
who killed cat? dad? ATF agent husband? Finished: Cat is not dead.... well was not dead.... now she is
“Halley for the comet, Leia for the princess in Star Wars. It’s funny, you look a little like Carrie Fisher.”
Finished: I do not know how halley got named after something that happened after she was born but... okay... maybe this will be addressed in the next book.

Dad calls her CAT!... she is CAT!!! Finished: i am going to chalk this one up to the fact that i cannot read punctuation because that is clearly a period not a comma. He did not call her Cat.
Halley’s Comet was the through line of Halley’s young life. It is her first memory, the four of them at the planetarium, her dad shivering in excitement. She was three, and she can remember almost all of that night—the darkened sky, the tail of the comet, her sister holding her hand and saying in awe, “You were named after that. Cool.” Her mother, laughing and kissing her dad as if he was the one to discover it through his telescope in the living room. As if he named it himself.

not sure why but will this be important later? will Halley discover notes / letters/ anything that hints to this type of writing from cat? finished : When Cat is dying she tells Halley to read the letters... maybe this will make sense in the next book?

She sees a black leather jacket on the stool behind him, notices he’s also wearing black biker boots. He’s older, midforties. He’s familiar in an uncomfortable way, but she doesn’t ever recall meeting him.
looks like her husband and the men in B town? Finished.... husband was not linked to these men in this book but Ian was !!! and this was Ian!

Finihsed: CODIS will show a male or female DNA profile.. this was so silly.
She swipes quickly now, looking for anything to confirm her suspicions. And there, at the end of the photo stream, a shot of the woman again. She is heavily pregnant. She is not smiling. She is Catriona Handon.

Watch out for the oldest, Tammy Boone had warned. Not Cameron. Ian.
Tammy knew about Ian... how?... or was Tammy referring to Cameron because Cameron too is in on it?

why is he calling her kitty cat?
Theo comes to visit every evening. He and Gray have some sort of bond that Halley is heartened to see.
