My curiosity piques. “Do most guys know how to give a girl a G-spot orgasm? It’s the spot on the front wall of the—”
“Hey.” Her hand lands on my arm, and she smiles up at me with a patient, amused smile. “You’re still my number one.”
“I’m not interested in him. And if I was? Even I know not to do anything while I’m on a date with someone else.” She gives me a playful nudge, and the knots loosen in my chest so I can breathe again. “I’d have to take you out again on another practice date. We’d be stuck doing practice dates for eternity.”
Her grin is teasing, but going out on practice dates for eternity with Darcy sounds pretty damn good to me. But that’s not my job, to keep her all to myself. I’m supposed to be showing her the ropes. “Are you ready to move on to dates with real guys?” I study her face, looking for any sign that she’s done with this. “I mean, uh, real prospects?”
She wrinkles her nose and she shakes her head. “Not y...

“Yes.” Every so often, Grant glances over here at Darcy, and my blood pressure spikes.
“Not mushy?”
“Who?” My eyebrows pull together.
“Grant.”
Oh. Right. Him. Our eyes meet, and my pulse skips a beat at the i...

Catching my breath, staring out the window, I know I can’t deny my feelings for her anymore. I like her. I’ve always liked her. It’s not going away, no matter how hard I try. And teaching her the things she wants to learn? It just might kill me.
He’s right that I’m distracted. All I can hear is do most guys know how to give a girl a G-spot orgasm? I had a toy… I didn’t like it. What’s your favorite sex position? Darcy Andersen is going to fucking kill me. I swallow hard, glancing over to where she sits with Hazel and Pippa.
The air whooshes out of my lungs in a heavy exhale. “We kissed.” He lights up. “That’s great.” “It wasn’t like that.” My grip tightens on my stick. “It was a one-time thing. I was just—” “Let me guess. Helping her?” He smirks. “Because you’re her wingman.”
Protectiveness rattles through me, and I stare back at him with my teeth clenched so hard they might crack. He’s trying to get a rise out of me and get under my skin. The rational part of my brain tells me to ignore him. I can’t, though. I love these guys like family, but the idea of them touching Darcy, of her sitting in their laps and stroking their hair while they make out, sends hot rage through my blood.
“Score a goal tonight, or I’ll make a suggestion next time we’re all out at the bar.
Every muscle in my body tightens. “She doesn’t want that.” “Why don’t you let her decide that? She’s a grown woman, Owens. She can speak for herself.” She gets nervous sometimes, and she’s new at the dating thing. She needs someone who will take his time with her and not rush her. And I don’t fucking want her kissing another guy.
My pulse races in my ears as I think about one of the other players with Darcy.
The low, gentle tone of Hayden’s voice sends another wave of tears to my eyes. “Yep,” I croak, panic shooting through me. Hayden can’t see me crying. “I’m fine. Just going to bed now. Good night.”
He doesn’t say anything, but I can sense him waiting on the other side of the door. “I’m coming in.”
When Hayden opens my bedroom door and sees me curled up on my bed, crying, his expression hardens.
“Hey, hey, hey.” The bed sinks as he sits beside me, hand brushing over my hair. “What’s going on?”
“Kit ca...

“Honey,” he murmurs, mouth on my temple, breath on my cheek.
“I know,” she says defensively.
We stand there for a long moment, and I run my hand down her back to comfort her.
“I guess Kit was right.” She makes it sound like a joke, but there’s an added element of vulnerabilit...

“No.” She puts her hand out, and I jerk mine back so I don’t accidentally touch her.
and does that distracting lip-biting thing again.
I groan, closing my eyes, and she chuckles more. Fucking hell, can I picture it. Her lying on her bed, moaning and working the toy between her legs, inching closer and closer to her release while I lie in my bed on the other side of the wall.
In my room, I lie in my bed and stare at the ceiling. Owens, what are you doing? I drag a sobering breath in, listening to her bedroom door closing and her light footsteps as she gets into her bed. What the actual fuck are you doing?
Fuck Kit for telling me it wouldn’t look good. I look amazing with purple hair.
My blush deepens as I nod. “Yep. Hayden got it for me.”
“Maybe you should switch up the power play teams,” I suggest lightly, running my fingernail over a seam on the sleeve of my jersey. The table goes quiet. Shit. I shouldn’t have said that.
“She has a statistics degree,” Hayden says confidently.
I shoot him a hard look. “Um.” Under everyone’s watchful, curious eyes, I can’t get a full breath. I’m not used to being the center of attention like this. “I build statistical hockey models.” Silence. “For fun,” I add. Oh god. They probably think I’m so weird. “Anyway—”
Hayden’s eyes spark with interest. “Show us, Darce.”
This is getting real, so I scramble for an excuse. “I’m not going to pull my laptop out at the bar like a dork.” Hayden holds my gaze as his hand drifts toward his jacket zip, and I cough out a laugh. He grins, wiggling his eyebrows, making the message clear. Show us the models or I’ll show them the picture of you on my shirt.
“Right?” Hayden nods at Rory. “She’s always been good at this stuff.”
“I’ll close the door so it won’t be cold in the rest of the apartment.”
“No, Darce.” Does she think I’m worried about myself? “I don’t want you to be too cold.”
She hums, watching me. “So maybe it’s you who snores.”
