Now the money is gone and there are no careers to show for it and the worst part is that they had a chance, they had a Nai Nai who paid for half their tuition because she thought America was for dreams. They didn’t have to wait tables or strip or sell Adderall to pay for college but they somehow messed it up anyway, and Cora thinks that’s worse than having no chance at all.
It’s sad that she thinks she screwed things up because she didn’t do anything wrong. It wasn’t her fault that a pandemic happened and her job became irrelevant during the time making her get laid off
