Some guys might call her fat. I’d beat up every fucking one of them. Because I didn’t care how she was labeled—to me, she was a stunning, gorgeous goddess. Period.
If she wanted to flirt with someone, she could flirt with me. And if that jackass touched her, I was punching a hole through his head with my already clenched fist.
Reaching them, I raised my chin at Noah. He glared at me. I jerked my head to the side. Face turning a satisfying shade of red, Noah muttered, “asshole,” and walked away.
“Aviva, let’s go,” Tovah said. “Let’s not,” I said. “How about I show you how the other half dances?”
And then when she moaned again and softened into my arms, lowering her arms to wrap around my waist, well. That was it. I was a motherfucking goner. The world shifted on its axis. Even fucking gravity disappeared. The people around us certainly disappeared. Just me and her and this raging satisfaction. Mine.
Releasing Jack’s jersey, I turned, ready to focus on figuring out how to get into Coach Jensen’s office. Which was when someone grabbed me from behind. I tried to scream, but their big hand covered my mouth as they dragged me backward. Terrified, I fought against them. “Maybe instead of princess, I should’ve nicknamed you thief,” Jack murmured in my ear.
“What’s wrong?” Jack asked, the gentleness in his touch reflected in his quiet voice. “Never put a condom on a cock before?” I didn’t trust it. “Tom took care of it,” I muttered. Jack grabbed my right wrist, gripping it tightly. The condom hung there, between us. “Who the fuck is Tom?”
“Such a fucking sweet cherry,” he growled, and his eyes flashed silver. “And mine. All mine. You hear me, princess? This means you belong to me now. Some other asshole touches you, this Tom comes near you?” he sneered. “I’ll motherfucking destroy him.”
“I was thinking that you’re mine for as long as I want you to be. I fucked your untouched cunt, and that changed everything. Your body’s mine, your pussy’s mine, your decisions are mine. Everything about you is mine, and I protect what’s mine.”
And then your mercurial ass warned us ‘if any of you call her that, I’ll make sure you ride the bench the entire season.’” Isaac imitated me.
“Every guy on campus thinks I’m easy. And they’ve had no problem with letting me know it.” He growled.
“Where are my clothes?” “You don’t need your clothes,” he said calmly. My thighs clenched. “What, you want to fuck me again?” He sighed. “I always want to fuck you, Aviva. But no, right now I’m going to hold you and we’re going to talk and then I’m going to feed you breakfast.”
“Does that mean I’m working with Sebastian?” I asked, naming the student who’d wanted to work with me before. Professor Johnathan looked guilty. “Sebastian wanted to stay with his current group.” “No I didn’t,” Sebastian muttered.
“You can’t kill him,” she said immediately. “I know it would be fun, but I don’t want to visit you in prison.” My teeth ground together. “You’d get used to it.”
There was a loud thump as someone slammed into the glass. I looked down, expecting to see a fight. Instead, Jack glared up at us. He slammed the glass again. “Move, professor,” he yelled.
“This is what will happen if you ever wear someone else’s jersey again. From now on, when you come to my games, you wear my jersey, and only mine. Disobey me, and I’ll slice up something worse.” Like the player whose number she wore. “Got me?”
“I guess you can have my number…” I rolled my eyes. He grinned. “You really are cute. Hand me your phone.” I slipped it out of my pocket and handed it to him— —only for it to be intercepted by a big, familiar hand.
The threat must have pissed Dave off, because he turned to me, winked, then turned back to Jack. “Feldman, didn’t you ever learn how to share? You seemed like you understood that concept the other night.” The punch came so fast, I almost missed it.
“You’re taking a break, Aviva.” I continued dousing him with water. “No, I’m fucking not. You’re leaving, and Dave is pressing charges.” Dave turned to me. His face was a mess, blood everywhere. “I’m not,” he tried to say. “I knew this would happen. My own fault.” “You. Don’t. Talk. To. Her. Or the next punch will take out your teeth.”
“Let me get this through that beautiful little head. If I find out you’ve flirted with another man, I will lock you up in my basement and throw away the goddamned key. And him? They’ll never find his body. Do you want that on your conscience, princess?”
“I’m looking,” I said gruffly. “Don’t look too hard,” Conor called, clearly territorial over his woman.
there’s a car here? for you? to take you to the hockey game? ???????? CAN I FINALLY MURDER HIM?
“Jack, put me down.” “I like carrying you like this,” he said. “It’s good practice for our wedding.”
He wasn’t done. “Oh, and I called your brother and apologized to him, too. Told him I’d make sure he got his spot back on the Kings and his scholarship back. And I mean it, little fury. If I have to use up every favor I have to make sure it happens, I’ll do it.” He grinned. “By the way, he’s pissed at you for not telling him you’d transferred. I told him I was keeping you safe.”
Woah, woah, woah! Calm it down. I’ve been waiting for that reveal this WHOLE book and you have it go down off screen 😡
Also, one phone call was all it took to undo all the trauma that was keeping Asher isolated?
“Why hurt me? It’s one thing to be convicted of sexual assault, another of murder” I thought I saw him shrug. “I have your phone. I’ll use it to send a suicide email. You were so distraught over learning your brother’s lies, you decided to burn down the building,
