Hell was made of swirling darkness and secrets just like the man in front of her.
“No,” she seethed. “I don’t think it will ever be anything but crystal clear to me that I hate you.” Leaning down slowly, until his lips were right next to her ear, he said, “Prove it.”
“I am devastated for you,” she told him sincerely, bending down to haul up both of her trunks, ready to leave the train long behind. “Try not to fall into too heavy a depression from my noticeable absence in your life.”
The smile that began to unfurl at the corners of his mouth made alarm bells go off in the back of her mind. “You truly have no idea what sort of trouble you’ve gotten yourself into.”
Sevin tilted his head at Rowin. “And I thought choking was more your thing.”
Rowin rolled his eyes as Sevin corrected, “I don’t think you’d be the one doing the choking, sweetheart.”
“It is something you’ve never seen before. Me. And I’m spectacular.”
She’d always want to be found. No matter how many times she ran away.
“I don’t want to fight it.” “Fuck,” he hissed. “Neither do I.”
“Making you come,” he reminded her. “Which is why you’re going to show me how to do it first.”
“The light isn’t something you need to chase, Genevieve. The light is wherever you are,”
“If you thought I was a tireless opponent, wait until you see me as a lover.”
“I’m a creature of Hell, worshipping is not usually in my nature.” Then he lowered himself between her legs and flicked his tongue out to taste her. “But for whatever time you remain in my bed, I will make it your shrine.”
“I… I’ve always been right about you, you know. You’re going to be nothing but trouble for me.”
“It’s never easy to realize that the people who are supposed to protect us are the ones who can create the deepest scars.”
“I am not him,” Rowin snarled. “I want to find him and flay all the flesh from his body and set him on fire for what he did to you. Don’t ever compare me to him.”
“Fox says”—he leaned down until his mouth was near her ear, the metal of his piercing cool against her heated skin and making her shiver—“put a finger inside that beautiful pussy for me.”
“Genevieve, you have to choose to live for yourself. You are the most real thing you’ll ever be able to experience. Your light. Your determination. You can search every corner of the universe for something else and it will never be enough if you’re trying to escape yourself.
there’s no risk in life, I don’t think it’s worth the journey,”
“Shadows can only be seen in the presence of light,” he told her, the words agonized. “I worry when you leave, there will be no one left to see me.”
“I know,” Rowin murmured, as he pried his eyes away from her writhing body to meet her gaze. “I know. You’re taking it so well.” He groaned. “You’re the most stunning person I’ve ever seen.”
I would have stood in this spot until I could no longer distinguish my own soul from the shadows. Until your light came back to me.”
