Osha.
“Perfect. You’re absolutely fucking perfect.
Little Osha.
Osha.
“Don’t call her Sunshine,”
“Why not?”
“Because she is moonlight. The mist that shrouds the mountains. The bite of electricity in the air before a storm. The smoke that rolls across a battlefield before the killing starts. You have no idea what she is. What she could be. You should call her Majesty.”
Osha.”
“Precisely. If she can’t even figure out how to wipe her own a—” “Danya, I swear on the seven gods, if you don’t shut up, I will toss you out of here myself,” Ren muttered darkly.
And I ate. I ate so much fucking food, Cook would scream the moment he saw me strolling into the kitchen.
No one’s in any danger. Not from me, at least. Are you planning on attacking anyone?” “No!” “Glad to hear it.
Little Osha.
“Evening, Wendy? Don’t you ‘Evening, Wendy’ me. I’ve been making those cursed biscuits for you every year, and you haven’t once bothered to show
up and eat them. No one else likes them, you cheeky shit. What a waste of ingredients!”
“You owe me money!”
“Do you know how expensive sugar is these days?”
Fisher laughed. Really laughed. The sound was rich and deep, and made something inside me sit up straight. When I’d picked up a pitcher at the Winter Palace and filled a glass for myself for the first time, I’d thought the sound of that rushing, free water would be my favorite sound until the day I died. I was wrong.
Little Osha.
Smiling has been pretty hard of late.”
“It is getting easier, though.”
Little Osha.”
Little Osha.”
Little Osha.
Little Osha.”
Little Osha,
Little Osha,”
Osha.
How long have you been out there? I asked. Only a few hours, came his reply. Why didn’t you come in? There was a long pause. And then he said, I didn’t know if you’d want me to. Come in from the cold, Kingfisher.
unrighteous dead. “Incredible,” Fisher said breathlessly. His eyes found mine, and they shone with amazement.
“It’s fucking outrageous that he can sing, too.”
Little Osha.
Even after a long day’s work at Elroy’s forge, I’d never felt this gross. Kingfisher looked at me like I was the most astonishing thing he’d ever seen.
“I was wrong, y’know. You are a good thief.” “What have I stolen?”
Little Osha,
“Be unrelenting and unmerciful in the face of the wicked dead,” Fisher said. Ren laid a steadying hand on my shoulder. “And if you should find soul sundered from flesh, order a drink for us at the first tavern you come across in the afterlife. We’ll settle the tab when we get there.”
Osha,”
“Don’t you dare die on my watch, Saeris Fane! Fisher will never forgive me if his sole reason for living is torn to pieces on her first fucking battlefield.”
Kingfisher turned killing into an art form.
Little Osha.
Who the fuck are you to say she and Fisher don’t belong together?”
“Did you hear that?” he said. “What?” “That smoking hot blonde said I was pretty.” “Gods alive, Carrion. Do not tell me you have a thing for Danya. She’s fucking awful.”
“Eh.” He shot me a rakish grin. “I love a girl with a sharp tongue and a bad attitude. Kinda makes my dick hard.”
Little Osha.

“My weakness! My vulnerability! I’ve known for centuries that you were coming. That you were just going to show up one day and change everything. You’re the chink in my armor, Saeris. The soft spot where the knife slides in. You are the thing that Malcolm will...

That’s what Oshellith means in Old Fae, Saeris. Most Sacred.”
