Was this a pepper-spray situation? Was it a pepper-spray situation if she liked that her new boss was staring at her legs? Maybe she should pepper spray herself.
But when everything else felt like failure, Iris’s smile felt like success. He wanted more of it.
He smiled, that dimple popping in his cheek, and Iris had to look away lest she do something inappropriate here in the middle of town like lick her boss’s face.
It made her want to say ‘Yes, chef!’ and do anything he asked. Uh, oh. Danger, Iris! Danger!
She leaned across the table, like a really stupid moth to a really sexy flame.
She was pretty sure it was some sort of evolutionary thing, right? As though her cavewoman brain was like, Oh, a man who can take care of his offspring? Hot.
‘Iris Lyn Fraser, you are being crazy.’ ‘Thank you. I feel crazy. That’s very validating.’
