The sideband that is lower in frequency than the carrier is called the lower sideband (LSB). The sideband that is higher in frequency than the carrier is called the upper sideband (USB). In amateur radio, the convention is that for SSB, lower sideband is used from 7 MHz and below. Upper sideband (T8A06) is used from 14 MHz and up, including 10 meter HF, VHF, and UHF. Lightning protection consists of three things: grounding, bonding, and lightning arresters. Lightning arresters are either gas discharge tubes or semiconductor devices called MOVs (metal oxide varistors).
