“When I dream about you naked, you’re not usually so hobbled, and you’re a lot more enthusiastic about it.”
How have I been? I’ve been flip-flopping between angry tears and snapping at inanimate objects in my closet all week. But at least I finally washed my hair.
“Just so you’re aware, it’s not required that you preface your feelings by calling yourself names. It’s not your job to keep my ego intact, least of all, by minimizing the way you feel.”
“I don’t understand how you’re single.” “I’ve never been single. I’ve been yours.”
“You’re a real catch, Zachary Porter.” Her eyes shine as she looks up at me, and I sweep her cheek with my thumb. “So, catch me.”
“I’m thinking about never realizing just how lonely I’ve been until the very moment I felt full.” When her brows pull together, I add, “Now. Here, with you. You make me feel so full, I can’t even breathe, sometimes. Like my lungs are screaming at me that I don’t need anything but you to survive.
“You’re in with me, and that’s all I care about. The rest of it… I’ll throw in a counteroffer here and there, because that’s what I’m supposed to do. But just so you know? You’ll get your way every time.”
