Nothing this woman does is going to shock me.
“Hey, could you give me a hand here?” Sweat is pouring down her face and neck. “I know the only reason you didn’t offer is because of Sierra.” Her tone says, Sierra’s such a bitch, but you aren’t like her, are you? You’re a gentleman. I shoot her a cool glance and even cooler smile. “I didn’t offer because I didn’t want to.”
“It wasn’t a big deal,” he says with a deep scowl. “Then why are you in a bad mood?” He glances over. “I’m not in a bad mood. This is how I am. And I’m trying to concentrate on driving.” “Most people can drive without staring at the road like it’s their mortal enemy.” “Good for them,” he mutters.
“You know, if you smile you’ll feel better.” “Is that a scientific observation?” “Nope. Life experience. It works! Try it.” He sighs, then pulls his lips back, baring his teeth. After relaxing again, he says, “I don’t feel any different.”
“What time is our flight?” I ask. “Eleven fifty-five.” “We have three hours.” I glance at the lines for the security. They’re even longer than those at the airline counters. “Which airline?” He points at a dark blue and white logo three yards ahead. I trot to the line and stand at the end. There are at least a hundred people ahead of us. “Wrong line,” he says. “We’re not flying economy.”
Dad: Saw that video of you singing for the girl. I suppose you’re going to marry her. –Me: What if I am? –Dad: Tell me the date and time for the ceremony. I’ll see if I can adjust my schedule for you. –Me: Well, Joey, that won’t be necessary. It’s going to be a small ceremony, friends and family only. –Dad: WTF? –Dad: I am your family!!!!!!!!!!!!!! –Me: Hope you get run over by a semi.
