This is waaaaay too dumbed down. Have some faith that the reader is not an absolute idiot living under a rock. Like I don’t need an Italian or Spanish lesson when I read because it completely pauses the story and it is 1000% unrealistic that someone who speaks Spanish will be “connecting the dots” so slowly about what very basic and universally known words or phrases are in a very similar Latin-based language.
