My impulsive nature chafes against the confines of those mission parameters. The desire for action will always burn like a wildfire inside me.
and this is why Wren fails as a character, and why this story is a pain to read. she acknowledges that she's impulsive yet thinks she's smart and strategic. in a world where doing things without a plan as a Mod will lead to her death or enslavement, she acts impulsively. the stakes don't matter because despite her nature everything works out for her.
