The sadness of that time is that just a month after Kelly became a mother herself, her mother Doris passed from a heart attack. Losing that vibrant, funny storyteller a month into Titan’s life was devastating to all of us. Her funeral services would be held in Georgia. I had just had my knee surgery the week before, so my doctor told me I could not fly. But there was no way I was not going to be at Kelly’s side at the hardest time of her life.
